The Accomodation
Set in central Ballarat, our family home is warm, safe and peaceful. Ideal for the sensory sensitive child, our home is a low stimulus environment.
Pet assisted playtime
We have two King Charles Cavalier dogs. Caring for them is an integral part of family life during our retreats. We encourage and assist our young participants to walk the dogs, groom them and play with them, thereby building a connection with these loving animals.
Wholesome activities tailored to you
The program is tailored to meet the specific needs, goals and interests of the participant. An interview prior to their stay is an essential part of the preparation for a retreat. We offer a selection of wholesome activities including (but not limited to) cooking, story-telling, bike riding, art making and board games. We can also go on excursions to Ballarat Wildlife Park or Sovereign Hill. We like to avoid screens and devices and save that for a family movie in the evening should the participant want that. We are happy to take a child to their existing classes should they happen during the respite. We are neuro-affirming and seek to nurture the participant's individual strengths.

About Me
Previous Steiner Primary School Teacher, Children's Creative Dance Teacher, Relationship Coach and Support Worker.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve earned a reputation for providing a gentle, calm and nurturing space for children to thrive. As a trained and experienced Steiner teacher, I know that consistent routines and rhythms help children and adults to feel secure and stable, with calm transitions enabling children to move confidently from one thing to the next. Homely activities and age-appropriate play-based activities allow children to develop a sense of their own autonomy and confidence. I have run family day-care programs and vacation care programs for local children in Ballarat for 6 years. I am also a relationship coach and practice and teach skills to help others build positive relationships. I teach children's creative dance and love to keep the magic of childhood alive. I love working with a highly sensitive child as I am a highly sensitive person myself.
